THE COMMONWEALTH OF
PENNSYLVANIA, ss.
WHEREAS Henry Vandruff of
the Township of ______in the County of _____
hath applied for three hundred and fifty acres of land,
including an Improvement adjoining lands of
John Lemley, Jacob Lemley, the Heirs of Wm. Wood,
Samuel Bayard, John Wisecarver and others situate in Whitely
Township in the County of Greene for which he has paid into
the office of the State Treasurer, at the
rate of fifty shillings per hundred acres, with interest
thereon from the 1 March 1805 to be paid agreeably to the
several acts of Assembly in such case made and
provided.
THESE are, therefore, to
authorize and require you to survey, or cause
to be surveyed, unto the said Henry Vandruff
the quantity of acres by him applied for at the place
aforesaid, if not already surveyed or appropriated, and to
make return thereof into the Land Office, for which this shall
be your Warrant.
IN WITNESS whereof John
Cochran, Esq., Secretary of the Land Office,
hath hereunto set his hand and affixed the seal
of the said office, the seventeenth day of January A. D. 1812.

the Register's office in Waynesburg on Friday the 25th
of October instant with their accounts and vouchers as
Administrators of the said Estate in order that the same may
be audited and settled on.

The
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to the Sheriff of Greene County -
Greetings
Whereas
Elizabeth Vandroof and James Vandroof of said Greene County did
on the twenty-third day of March eighteen hundred and
fifteen obtain letters of Administration on the
Estate of Henry Vandroof late of said County deceased,
whereby the said Elizabeth & James became bound to the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with Jacob Renner and
Joshua Vandroof, their sureties in the penal sum of seven
hundred dollars for the well and truly administering
the said Estate according to Law and whereas the said
Elizabeth & James have not rendered an account of
their administration according to the condition of their
Bond; - These are therefore to require you that you summon
the said Elizabeth and James to be and appear before the
Register at his office at Waynesburg on Friday the
twenty fifth day of October with their accounts and vouchers
as Administrators of the said Estate that the same
may be audited and settled agreeably to the Laws in that case
made and provided and have you then there this
writ. Given under my hand and seal of office at Waynesburg
the twelfth day of October in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and sixteen.

On the
petition of Daniel Morford son-in-law of Henry Vandroof late of
Cumberland Township, setting forth that the said
Henry died intestate leaving a widow to-wit Elizabeth Vandroof
and issue Seven children to-wit; James - Joshua -
Joseph - Henry, Catherine the wife of Daniel Morford your
Petitioner, Susannah the wife of William Morford
and Elizabeth and that the said intestate died siezed in his
(?) as of (?) of and in two certain tracts of land on the
waters of Whitely Creek, adjoining lands of Samuel Bayards
Heirs, John Lemley and others, Containing three
Hundred acres - with the appurtenances. The other situate on the
head waters of Muddy Creek adjoining John
Morris, Thomas Rineharts heirs John Renner and others. Containing
three hundred acres with the
appurtenances.
Your
Petitioner therefore humbly prays your Honors to award an Inquest
to make Partition of the premises aforesaid if the same can
be made agreeable to Law, or to value the
same if it cannot be divided without injuring or
spoiling the whole agreeable to the Laws of this Commonwealth.
Whereupon the Court upon due consideration of the
prayer of the Petitioner awarded an Inquest - (?)
Writ of Partition of 6th September 1815.
At
an Open Court held at Waynesburg the 27th of November 1815 Writ
returned by the Sheriff together with an inquisition
thereto annexed in which the real Estate is divided into
four parcels and valued as follows - viz No 1 -
Beginning at a White Oak thence by Lot Number two, North Eighty
three degrees, West eighty-two Perches to a Post, North
Fifty-Eight, West Fifty-four perches to a
chestnut Oak, South Seventy four perches to a Post and
thence by lands of Thomas Rinehart's heirs. South nineteen
degrees, East six perches to a White Oak.
South
fourteen degrees, East Ninety Perches to a Red Oak, East twenty
perches and a half to a White Oak. South thirteen
degrees, East Thirty eight perches to a White Oak. South Forty
eight degrees and a half west twenty seven
perches to a Dog-wood, thence by lands of John Renner. South
twenty six degrees. East sixty three perches to
a Hickory, thence by lands of Robert Hickman. North twenty
nine degrees East fifty four perches to a chestnut
Oak. East seventy five perches to a chestnut Oak. North
seventy four degrees,. East seventy nine perches to
a gum. North twenty degrees, East one hundred and fifty
perches to the place of Beginning.
Containing
one hundred and fifty three acres strict measure - valued at
seven hundred and seven Dollars sixty two cents and
a half per year.

On
the Petition of Elizabeth Vandruff a minor above the age of fourteen
years, setting forth that by the death of Henry
Vandruff her father she is entitled to some real as well as
personal property, and praying the Court to appoint
some proper person as guardian of her person and property, and
recommends Barnet Whitlatch as a proper person for the
purpose aforesaid.
Whereupon
the Court appoints Barnet Whitlatch as her guardian.
On
the Petition of James Vandruff setting forth that Henry Vandruff a
minor son of Henry Vandruff, late of Greene
County, deceased, who is under the age of fourteen years, is by
the death of his said father entitled to some real
and personal property - And praying the Court to appoint some
proper person for the purpose aforesaid.
Whereupon
the Court appoints Barnett Whitlatch guardian of the said
Henry Vandruff.
