David Lester "Pat" Patterson, 83, of 330 Doty Street, Waynesburg, died
at 9:20 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2001, in Greene County Memorial
Hospital, Waynesburg.
He was born March 24, 1917, in Goshen, Va., a son of George W. and
Susie Wood Patterson.
Mr. Patterson was a member of Church of Christ in Waynesburg.
He worked for several years for R.G. Johnson Construction and also
worked for the Conservation Corps. camps.
Since 1945, Mr. Patterson owned and operated Pat's Motors in
Waynesburg, one of the oldest used car dealerships in Greene County.
On September 9, 1939, he married Grace M. Scritchfield, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Berneda Kay Laskody of Waynesburg and
Wilma Ann Huffman of Spraggs; a son, David E. Patterson of Waynesburg;
eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Sokol
of Carmichaels and Lucille V. Ferguson of Toledo, Ohio; three brothers,
Charles R. and Robert L., both of Waynesburg, and William C. Patterson
of New Kensington; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, Lester Gene Patterson; a grandson, Bradley Gene
Patterson; a sister, Evelyn Patterson; and two brothers, George S. and
Earl M. Patterson.
Friends of David Lester "Pat" Patterson of 330 Doty Street, Waynesburg,
who died Friday, February 23, 2001, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m.
Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Milliken and Throckmorton
Funeral Home Inc., 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, where services
will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 26, with Brother Gary Berdine
officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial
Park, Morgan Township.
